Welcome to St Anns Forge

Whether you are planning a special holiday, anniversary, birthday celebration, wedding celebration, family reunion or business retreat, experience an extraordinary town house in the thriving medieval city of Salisbury.

Grade II Listed

This Grade II listed former forge has been sensitively restored, retaining many of the original 1500s features.  Situated opposite the St Ann’s Gate pedestrian entrance into the Cathedral Close, St Anns Forge is within easy walking distance from Salisbury’s shops and bustling twice weekly market, many historic pubs and a range of independent restaurants.

Once inside St Anns Forge, the comfort and quiet afforded by double and triple glazing and secluded courtyard garden make this a real retreat. Arranged over three floors, the accommodation is stylish and versatile, the atmospheric exposed original timber structure contributes to a house full of character.

St Anns Forge has four bedrooms sleeping up to ten guests, a spacious kitchen with large farmhouse table, luxury bathrooms, cable TV and WiFi. The property is dog-friendly and a travel cot and highchair are available so that all family members are catered for!

On the doorstep of St Anns Forge is Salisbury’s magnificent 13th century cathedral immortalised by Constable in his paintings and dubbed by Bill Bryson as “ the single most beautiful structure in England and the Close around it the most beautiful space”. Within the Close you will find Mompesson House (National Trust), the Medieval Hall and the Salisbury Museum. Within a forty five minute drive is Wilton House, the New Forest National Park and the Hampshire and Dorset Coastlines (with links to the Isle of Wight via Southampton and Lymington). Within an hour’s drive is Stonehenge, Longleat, Stourhead and historic cities and towns such as Bath, Winchester, Marlborough and Shaftesbury.

There is much to enjoy after dark in Salisbury with its thriving art scene that includes one of the country’s leading repertory theatres, Salisbury Playhouse, and a number of wonderful independent restaurants.
